Computer Challenge

We are holding a "Virtual" Computer Challenge in 2021! The event starts on March 1st, and will end on March 5th. Students will be able to participate in a reduced number of events from a normal Computer Challenge, and we will hold two "live" virtual events (Extemporaneous Speaking and Professional Interview) on March 5th. Schools and volunteers can contact Dan Guilmette at guilmetted@cochise.edu for more information.

Every year, the AFCEA Club sponsors a competition called Computer Challenge (formerly Computer Olympics). We invite high school and middle school students from the Cochise County area to come to Cochise College and compete against other students in computer related activities. Middle/Elementary School students compete separately from High School students. Each student chooses to compete in areas such as Word Processing, Programming, Keyboarding, and Web Page Design.

The 2020 competition was held on March 6th, 2020 with over 170 students from 9 schools competing at the one-day event!! After the competitions were complete, an award ceremony was held where the top 6 students in each category were recognized with a medal and/or certificate.

If you are interested in volunteering or having your school participate, please contact Dan Guilmette at guilmetted@cochise.edu or 515-5431. Potential competitors should contact their respective schools to sign up to attend this exciting event.
